Naples remains one of the main tourist hubs in southern Italy and an increasingly important strategic hub in the national tourism system. In recent years, the city has consolidated a significant growth trajectory, strengthening its appeal thanks to increased visitor numbers, a growing international presence and a gradual improvement in access infrastructure.
In 2025, Naples recorded approximately 15 million tourist arrivals, an increase of 4% compared to the previous year and a recovery of 106.1% compared to 2019 levels. The city alone accounts for 68% of total regional tourist arrivals, a figure that rises to 75% if only foreign visitors are considered, thus confirming its role as the main tourist hub of Campania and a privileged gateway to southern Italy. The degree of internationalisation is particularly high: 62% of visitors are foreign tourists, compared to a national average of 56%, highlighting the city's growing ability to attract foreign markets and high-potential international demand.
